When speakers and would-be speakers need help, they turn to Halina St James. For many, her TalkitOut Technique has turned a good speech into a great one… and a nervous presenter into a more relaxed performer.
TalkitOut was born in the most unlikely of settings: war zones, political summits and the Olympic Games.
As a television news producer for CBC and CTV, Halina’s job was to help reporters and anchors sound credible, confident and authentic in the face of unforgiving deadlines.
Stepping away from the world of broadcasting, Halina discovered that authenticity, confidence and credibility were exactly the qualities needed by speakers, presenters, executives and public servants.
Halina created Podium Media and Communications Coaching to help speakers find their true voice, power and passion. “It’s all about making a message resonate with an audience,” says Halina. “We’re not about teaching presentation tricks. We don’t want to make it slick. We want to make it stick.”
Halina has been a member of CAPS for 10 years. When she’s not speaking, or working with speakers, you’ll find her gardening, ballroom dancing, or eating chocolate.
Halina St. James has been a member of CAPS for 10 years. She’s played a part in organizing two conventions. She was Co-Chair of the 2015 CAPS Convention in Halifax, and Communication and Marketing Chair for the CAPS Convention in 2006.
She has given workshops for the Atlantic Chapter, and helps all members who contact her.
